Deb's Gatefold Challenge

I worked on this all day yesterday and most of the day today. I put aside a couple of attempts that were pathetic (in my estimation), and settled on this card. I had a different front piece to it, a beautiful stamp that I somehow smeared. I did another card for the SCS sketch challenge today, and it gave me an idea for this flower. I love the paper tole thing (thanks to Faith at Stampin with Markie's Mom for the inspiration!). The stamps are from TAC's new catalog, Simply Divine, and they really are! The flower is a CHF stamp, stamped onto glossy with Versamark and heat embossed with Butterscotch embossing powder, then painted with Twinkling H20s. I cut them out and did the paper tole thing to curl the petals, added the pretty brad and this is what I got. The lace-like ribbon is from Walmart - it's actually a vinyl ribbon and it's cool. I used Marigold Morning, Certainly Celery, and a yellow Bazzill paper. I put a velcro dot closure on the card because I didn't want to add anything else to the front. I'm happy with how upbeat this card is (different from my usual) and how light and airy the colors are (also very different from the norm for me). The inks are Mustard Stazon (the lily outline), Jardin Moss Palette ink for the stems, and Pumpkin Stazon for the flower stamp (don't have a clue what kind of flower that is!).

I love the vibrancy of this; I have to try paper toile now. (and I'd be so very flattered if you linked your blog to mine; that's too funny you asked, because I was going to add yours to the list on mine of inspiring blogs today, but blogger was running insanely slow.)

P.S. I love the title of your blog!
