More bookmarks

This is my latest set of bookmarks. One of the women in the bookmark swap sent me an extra set of bookmarks she made. She wasn't my partner, but sent me beautiful bookmarks, so I'm returning the favor. You can't see the background very well on here, but trust me, it's really pretty. I used gouache paints in blue and green, and a pearl metallic acrylic paint. Then I did a dry brush with very little gesso and a bit of the pearl paint. It shimmers a bit and it looks like it's fluid. Very neat effect with very little work. Gouache paints, for those who don't know, are opaque paints, pigment in water, but very thick and heavy. I saw a set on sale in Michaels and bought them without having a clue what to do with them. They're really nice paints for backgrounds.

My father in law had balloon angioplasty today, in two places in his heart and one in his leg. I haven't heard yet how he's doing, but hopefully it all went very well and he's recovering.

Michelle,
I got your bookmarks in the mail and just had to post that I agree - the backgrounds are lucious (did I spell that right?)! My 12yo daughter snagged the swordfish one, and would have taken the goldfish too, but I put my foot down! LOL Thank you so much!
