Cards!

I made a couple cards using a Lizzie Anne set I got awhile ago. I didn't know what to do with this pretty flower, but I finally figured it out - tent toppers! I made two cards, one with a funny saying and one that just says thank you.

This is the thank you card. I used a TAC paper, Rustic Chic, one of my favorites paper pads from TAC. The flower is colored with chalk pencils, blended and then sprayed with workable fixative. The sentiment is from SU! The hardware is just chipboard, heat embossed with sapphire EP, then with a very fine EP in turquoise/silver to get it to match the paper. This was so simple to make.

This is my smarty-pants card. The saying is "It's better to have loved and lost than to live with that psycho for the rest of your life". That is from Missy B Designs, and it just tickled me to no end. One thing to know about me, I'm very easy to amuse, and no one amuses me like I do. I used Basic Grey "Perhaps" paper, the hardware is again done with chipboard and garnet EP. The flower was done with Prismacolor pencils and OMS, to get the colors to match. Another simple card, but I have no idea when I'll get to use this one.

Our little grey chicken was carried off by a hawk last week. I counted the other chicks and it looks like a few of them might have also been dinner for something. I was sad about the grey chick. He was pretty. It looks like Little Red Hen is going broody again, though, so she might be ready to sit on another egg. The other two clutches of eggs have gone cold, abandoned by the hens, which doesn't really bug me. It isn't like we need more chickens running around our yard, covering it with mess. One really funny thing, my son Travis can make the chickens go to sleep. He tucks their heads under their wings, rocks them for a moment or two, and lays them on the ground, asleep. He showed my mom today, and that rotten white rooster laid on the ground asleep, head tucked under his wing, for a good two minutes. I wonder if there's much calling for a chicken-hypnotist, because Travis would be good at it. :o)
