A day late

I promised the card last night, but I didn't finish it until about 10:30 pm, and the pictures I can take at 10:30 at night just aren't good enough to put out into public. They turn out yellow and just not what I'd want to publish on my blog. But now it's a new day. I came home from work and the first thing I did was take this picture:

The paper is all SU! The base is Blush Blossom. The second layer is Whisper White sponged with Sage Shadow, and the last layer is Apricot Appeal. The scalloped circle is emboss resist on glossy CS, sponged with Blush Blossom and Sage Shadow. The flowers are on Whisper White, and colored with the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and blended with a stump. One very important note - use a clean stump. If it isn't clean, it leaves a dirty look on the paper that isn't terribly attractive. The stamp set is from Sell a Bration last year - Delight in Life. In my opinion, that set is one of the best I've seen for the emboss resist technique. The flowers are just so pretty! The ribbon is SU! Very Vanilla and Apricot Appeal. The sentiment was done on the computer and printed onto vellum. There are little plastic flower brads in the flower centers.

So, the stump worked, but not real well on shimmering paper. I tried that first. The special coating makes the watercolor paint just kind of push around on the paper. It didn't do what I wanted it to do. The end result would have been different, and it very well might have worked better with a paintbrush on that paper (not so much pressure on the color). I'm still thrilled to have found a solution to my problem with controlling with a paintbrush.

Gorgeous card! I LOVE that set; it looks fantastic with the three flowers all together. I'll have to try your new blending technique :0)

Hello!! I just adore that Delight In Life set and am sooooooooooo glad I got it! Your card is very pretty. I like your idea for using the blending stump with the WWC. And now I want some Apricot Grosgrain!
