Joined an interesting art group

It's a yahoo group called The Artists Circle. They're all about doing workshops for people who have more supplies than they even know how to use. Wow, does that describe me. I think they were having a conversation with my husband, actually. I'm sure he is wondering what all of this stuff is for, though I must say, as much stuff as I have, I actually use it all.

Here is our first "assignment". It was to take 12 tags and paint them with coffee. I used a very strong Sanka (instant). What a stink!! I put about 6 or 7 coats of the coffee on to get that pretty, hey-I-just-spilled-my-coffee-all-over-my-project look. I probably could have just spilled my coffee and saved myself the time between dryings. :o)

Our next assignment is to color three of them with watercolors. Hey, baby, no problem at all!! I'm using my Pearl Ex watercolors for the first time ever. They're still in the making, but as soon as they're done, I will show them to y'all. I also have a card I am trying to make. I stamped the image on velour paper (very pretty) and colored with Prismacolor NuPastels. It is GORGEOUS (not bragging, but I'll be danged if that velour paper doesn't make for a great surface to use pastels on!). I just need to figure out the mounting for the card. I would like it to be very pretty.

Anyway, that's it for now. I'm doing weird things with my coffee. Hey, I've heard of much weirder things the stars do with their coffee. Be happy I just painted with mine!
