Another new stamp

I buy new images a lot. Probably not anymore than other stampers who are addicted to this craft, but enough to make my husband nervous about being overrun by rubber. I tell him it could be worse. I could be buying shoes that we trip over. I bought some stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms, two Thomas Kinkades, a Christmas verse and stamp, and an image called Mother and Child by Magenta (at least that's what the wood says on its side) that I got from Addicted to Rubber Stamps. The Thomas Kinkades are going to take me some practice. I tried coloring them, but FORGET IT! I can't be that precise. I get bored too easily. I plan to try to emulate some of their design team's monochromatic work, after I get over the frustration from trying to color them!

I love the Magenta image. Here's my first card with it.

This was a piece of cake. It's a 5x5 card, my first. The image didn't fit an A2 well with the orientation I wanted (horizontal). Here's how I did it. I stamped with ink from The Angel Company, says it's black India Ink. It's awesome for detailed stamps. It holds the detail very well, but I don't think TAC sells it anymore. I stamped it onto TAC's white glossy and let it dry. Then I color dusted with Distress Inks - tea stain, vintage photo, weathered wood, and peeling paint. Love those distress inks too. I took a piece of DP from the Kahmalaht series (TAC) for the background. Distressed that piece, the layer for the image, and the image. The ribbon is chocolate velvet ribbon. It is yummy looking and was perfect for this card. I knew my impulse would pay off!! The hardware is from Making Memories. I love the brad in the corner. The base CS is SU!, True Thyme, the layer piece is some generic brown from Michaels (like out of a big tablet of papers). This image just makes my heart melt. I have four more images stamped and ready to be color dusted and made into cards just like this one. I hope you like. I'm going to post it to SCS, too, because my inspiration for it is a woman on SCS - mlane502 - her card is called Illuminations. Check it out!

I think this image is just wonderful. I love how you've coloured it with the distress inks. The brad and the ribbon and the hardware set it off beautifully. I have a little obsession with brads and ribbons and bits, but you already guessed that!
