Another round of blog jewels!

It's almost time for another round of blog jewels!! As soon as my hits total 2500, I'll post on the blog for another winner. I'm not sure if it's going to be random, or if I'll come up with a contest of some sort. It seems random things are nice, but it's more fun to have a competition, no?

Anyway, I've been a little quiet this week. My world has been its own kind of nightmare recently, and I've spent a few days wallowing in self-pity. It's not like me to linger too long on negativity, so this is quite out of character. I'm sorry to not have more pretty things to put up tonight. I joined a swap that is so far out of my league that I'm concerned about my mental health status. I must have had a complete brain melt down to actually sign up for this swap - it's a popsicle stick swap. We have to alter four popsicle sticks to send to someone. The things the other women are coming up with are amazing. My mind is blank. I have about 20 attempted "things" (much more like garbage) lying on my table, and I have just a few more days. Wow. I have to be an idiot. I just have to be. I should soon be done with something, but things take so long to dry. Patience is a virtue, so they say. I really wonder who "they" are because "they" must not have had anything to do or anywhere to be. Patience equals waste of time to me.

The party/class/stamping get together was a lot of fun last night. We just sat around for a few hours, making pretty backgrounds with my H20s. We did three techniques - silken mist (my version of it), faux stippling (again, my version), and cling and scrunch. I made a beautiful piece that looks like tortoise shell. I want to make something with it, but I don't know what.

Chicken update. We had 14 chicks. I say "had" because I just found out tonight that my little guy was outside jumping around and landed on one of the chicks who wandered too close. YIKES! So now we have 13. I'm so glad I wasn't home for the stomping, and it just goes to show that natural selection works. Dumb ones die early. Most of the chicks stay far, far away from us and keep close to their mamas. This one apparently missed the danger sign of a hyper three year old doing the bunny hop. Sad, very sad, but hey, I firmly believe that even the human race needs a little chlorine in the gene pool.

So, what's next on the list? Finish the popsicle swap. I am in two swaps on Splitcoast that I must finish up. I signed up for a puzzle piece swap, but my piece is done for this already. Puzzle pieces are one of my favorite things to do! Oh, I also have a pregnant friend who just found out that she's having a boy, so I will be buying some yarn to make a pretty blanket for her baby. He's due to join our world in January, so I have some time to finish it and make it special. There are other things that I'm working on that don't really have a deadline. I found some styrofoam balls that I bought last year, and I figured this would be a great time to mess with them. I painted them with Lumieres (what is with that smell???) and am going to turn them into flowers, if I'm lucky. I also want to finish my son's scrapbook. He just won't sit still for pictures to finish it. Whew. Tomorrow, or I guess I mean later today, I will post some pictures of my works in progress. Thanks for visiting!

So what the heck do you do with popsicle sticks? Incorporate them into a design somehow, I guess? Are any posted on SCS? Good luck and hang in there! Oh, and on my flower card, I cut and cut the edges of 2 pieces of paper for ever trying to match the up. I am surprised there is any flower left! LOL! My flower petals are so off but that is the beauty of it! It is surely not cookie cutter! Thanks for your nice commnets! Deb
